Paypal Poll Question *Update*

Thanks for your feedback! I’ve decided to keep the Paypal button since I can’t see it deterring people from learning.

~~~~~~~~~Original Entry Below~~~~~~~~~
I read an article awhile back about restaurants where you could pay whatever you thought was fair. Sometimes people overpay, other times people underpay. It intrigued me. (See story)
Ok all. Here’s the low-down.
As I’ve explained, the videos are meant to be free and that will not change. I don’t want anyone to pay for them. They’re just something I’d like to do to help anyone with their Spanish. But who is to say that someone isn’t so appreciative of the extra Spanish help that they want to give back?
So here we go. I’ve created a poll to see what you think about the Paypal button on the side of the site that I’ve added. Please be honest. You can also comment below this post to let me know if you have an opinion not expressed on the poll. Any feedback is welcome and appreciated. I’ll let the poll run for a week or 2 and then after reading the results, I’ll heavily consider them before deciding to keep the button or take it down.
I don’t want people deterred from coming to my site because of the button and I don’t want people to think I am begging. Like I said, the videos are free and that won’t change. I’ll continue to do them and hopefully the quality will continue to improve!
So please let me know your thoughts! ¡Gracias y adiós!
  1. I think that there are more people like me out there who see a lot of value in what you are doing and who would not be in the least offended or intimidated if you added a way for us to make donations. You put a lot of effort into your productions and in my opinion you are doing a very good job. I say “Go for it!”
  2. You’re an excellent teacher and this is a terrific resource. It would be wonderful if it could stay free (that’s what first attracted me) – but I think you’ll also find that people would be willing to pay for your lessons.
  3. Gracias Jenny. It will stay free regardless because that was always the purpose! This is something that I am able to continually improve. I hope to add extra practice eventually with html/flash exercises. That might be awhile down the road though! 🙂
  4. You should really bring back your cafepress shop. I would probably buy another shirt.
    I honestly don’t know why I am here since I don’t speak a lick of spanish…
  5. Senor Jordan,
    You are a great teacher. The world is blessed with your generosity. In my opinion it would not be offensive if you would allow others that are able to return a gift to you. Thank you so much for all of your effort, I do greatly appreciate it.
  6. I have already sent you two personal messages. Although you are busy, you still made time to answer my questions. I plan to donate today as I really appreciate what you are doing for all of us.
  7. I very much appreciate any free resources I can find as a poor teacher myself. 🙂 However, I would be happy to make a donation at the start of the school year to show my appreciation for this great resource. I know I couldn’t afford what it’s worth (poor teacher), but since giving would be optional and could be whenever I am able, I’d be happy to contribute!
